Friday Night Lights

So, Friday night we started off by going to the Rose and Crown Pub for JoAnne's going away dinner. (see pictures below.. she leaves us Tuesday :( ) Anywho, after a filling meal, we ventured home to play Dutch Blitz. For those of you who are thinking... what the heck is dutch blitz, it's like skip-bo, only so much faster. And for those of you thinkging.... what the heck is skip-bo, it's like... speed, multiple player style. It gets pretty ... crazy. We played for about two hours. Joy and I ended up pushing back our chairs and standing up, so we could get a better reach at the table :P Mean things were said. Lots of noises made. At one point, Rachael and I were barking :| It was an interesting night, haha. I didn't know I could make such a variety of sounds! They were all laughing cos I was constanly making noises, every time I layed a card or whatever... sound effects I guess. Plus yelling at them when they were quicker than me :P I jumped up and down a lot too, haha. Ahh dutch blitz... everyone should play :)
So, after some name calling (Joy!) we went to Hooligans. That's the local nightclub/bar. Rachael promised Ashley (from work) that we'd go to the bar if she'd come to church. So we left the house at like.. 10:30, cos $2 drinks and shots started at 11. whoo.... anyways, it was... interesting. The stupid black lights make like a million pieces of previously invisiable lint show up in my black shirt... gross. There was hardly anyone there except the entire Pocaterra staff, lol. It was pretty crazy. There aren't even that many of us at the hotel at once! But it was fun. Rachael and I sat at a table watching everyone drink. And.. yep, we actually danced. Ashley made us name a song we would dance to, and we said 'Hey Mama' by the Black Eyed Peas(thought of you the whole time, Chantel!). So at one point the DJ was like... This song goes out to Hannah and Rachael! haha.. so they made us dance. And I never dance.. and there were prolly only about.. 10 max on the dance floor :| Oh well, it was fun. We didn't get home until about 1, with us all having to work in the morning, but we had a good time, and will prolly go back some time.
So all and all it was a good night :)

Hiking is the devil

Aloha!! So, Rachael and I got off work yesterday at 2:45ish, thinking, hey, lets go for a hike!! Not sure why, but that's what we did! And we chose Lady Mac, which is like.. 6 hours round trip. We didn't even get there until like...4. And it gets dark at about 6:30. We're like yeah!! we'll bring our headlamps and we'll be fine!! But once we started, we were like nope don't want to come down this in the dark! It was right speep and rocky and not dark walking material. So, we only went up for about an hour and a half, then headed down. While we were up there we had the bright idea of waiting until it got dark, and going swimming in Cougar Creek, which is at the bottom of the trail. Well, it was far from dark when we got there. No sun, but definitely completely day light. But we wouldn't be stopped! We went anyways! And let me tell you, it was the coldest water I've ever touched!!! Colder than the Ottawa river in May!! Well.. on second thought... not sure. Maybe not QUITE that cold. But keep in mind it's water fed from the top of those mountains, lots of snow and ice up there. We were in and out as fast as humanly possible, praying no one say us, haha. We weren't exactly decent :| Anywho, wow, it was cold. I thought I was going to die for sure!! And then!! once we got all bundled up in ever piece of clothing we owned, we had to walk over an hour to get home!! Wet!!! Joy wasn't home to give us a ride, and we couldn't find a phone to call a taxi!! It was 7:30 and pitch dark when we got back, and we ended up skipping spanish, and pigging out and chips, pizza, and pepperettes. Ymmm :) It was gooooood food :)
But today I paid for it. I have to work 6 days this week, and I was in so much pain today!! I didn't know my butt got such a work out from hiking, haha but it sure hurt today! And my feet.... gah... and my legs.. and my knees... gah. I hurt so much last night I could hardly sleep. I'm such a whiner :) Anyways, it was awesome, and we have pics and videos and no one will ever see them :D
Cheers!

Ahh the funness contintues

Tonight after coming home from church, we were all sitting around the living room, and Rach finds a pack of matches, and she's like... 'hey... there's some guys name and number in here!' (Is it just me, or do all my funny stories involve Rachael doing something??) So shes' like... 'I should call him up and see if he wants them back' and I was all 'yeah do it, that would be awesomely funny!' So, she does! The conversation went a little something like this:
Rachael: 'Hello, is Jeremy there?'
Random Person: 'Yep, just a sec.'
Jeremy: 'Hello?'
Rachael: 'Hi, Jeremy?'
Jeremy: 'Yes?'
Rachael: 'Hi, I found your matches and I was wondering if you wanted them back.'
Jeremy: '...my what?'
Rachael: 'Your matches.'
Jeremy: 'My what?'
Rachael: 'Your matches. I found them. Your name and number was in them. I was wondering if you wanted them back.'
Jeremy: 'Uh, that's not how this works. Who is this?'
Rachael: 'Just some random person. Do you want them back?'
Jeremy: ' No.'
Rachael: 'Ok, Bye.'
While Joy, Maggie, Joanne and I die laughing in the background. Oh man it was awesome :)

This is me. Aren't I hot... haha.

The evils of coffee

Well. It's come to this. I've begun drinking coffee. BAD BAD BAD!!! I've always been VERY against drinking coffee!!! It's counter-productive! People drink it to make themselves alert, when really once you've drunk coffee for a while, you HAVE to have it to make yourself as alert as a normal person who doesn't drink coffee! It's so addictive!! And BAD for you! I don't even like the taste!! Not at all!! Or at least I thought I didn't! I never have! It doens't even SMELL good!! And it gives you a bad after taste! In your mouth OR someone elses!!!! I don't like coffee!! But.. I think I do!!! Gah!!! Reid bought some awesome super dark roast stuff when he was here last weekend, and since he and I planned on staying up really late playing Diablo, I decided to have some. I mixed it with hot chocolate mix.. and it was good! And I stayed awake until 4:30, no prob! But.. then... he left it here... and... tonight... I had some! NOOOO..... I've always convinced myself that caffiene (spelling??) has no effect on me! But holy... not tonight!! Rachael got back from her run, and was like.. what's wrong with you? I was so hyper and excited. And I left the heat on so I was freaking out about it being too hot, so I went outside! in the COLD!! gah. Joy asked me who would win in a fight, Jackie Chan or Jet Li, and I was like.. Jet Li, hands down. Then I was like... 'Jet Li!!! Kiss of the Dragon!!! Rachael, we have to rent that!! Erick told me I have to watch it!!!' So then I was all excited and made Rachael go with me to the store, which was forever away, and rent it. And I talked non stop the whole way. I'm becoming like my father :| Talking with lots of rabbit trails. Gosh. But anyways, the movie was awesome. Very actiony and exciting. Jet Li kickes butt.
Hannah out.

Suger really does kill

Hola
Walking to work always seems to be an adventure. Sometimes cats come charging out of the bushes scaring us, sometimes there's a train in the way that we have to climb over, and sometimes we find dead things. Like today. The path we take to work is the popular route for the highschool students, going to Wendys or McDonalds at lunch. And wouldn't you know it... they love dropping their garbage all along the way. Every day that we walk it, Rachael and I say that we're going to take a garbage bag next time, and pick it up. Well after many days of forgetting, today we did it. Rachael said we prolly looked like people doing community service, haha. Our garbage bag was too small too, we filled it up and then had to leave some for next time. But, back to dead things. We were fishing around in the bushes for stuff, and Rachael gives a big ol' scream and jumps around. Haha... i'm like... what?! And she's still making lots of noise, so I look in the cup she was going to pick up... and if there isn't a rat drowned in coke. Gross!! I was like... dumb it out and we'll take the cup. So she did, and away we went :)

Ahoy!

Well here it is. Continuing in the on going trend, I've made a blog. How exciting. I'm sure you'll all love to read the excitement that is the life of Hannah. Let me tell you, it's going to be a good time :) Haha. Cos... well you know. My life is so exciting. For example, today, when cooking dinner, Rachael caught on fire. Yes, you read that right. Rach caugh on fire. How you ask? Well that's a good question. You see, we don't have the greatest ..... cookware... here in our lovely home, so when taking a pot with no handles off the burner in a hurry because you always have it on max, and that causes things to boil over, sometimes you might accidentally hit the burner with your over mits. And... suddenly... fire appears. Just like that. Amazing isn't it? Tho I must admit, it's pretty funny watching Rachael dance around the kitchen smacking her burning hands together... lol.

I guess I should say... I'm currently living in Canmore, Alberta, with Rachael and Joy, and another wonderful young woman, Joanne. Tho Joanne moves out at the end of the month, and Melissa moves in. That means that 1/4 of the Summit 8 girls will be living together again. Whoot whoot. We're all working at an inn, Pocaterra Inn. It's good times to be had by all. Today in fact, I got high of the fumes of purple spray, our ever trusty cleaner. That's right folks. It was a sight to see. I was pretty useless. I forgot to finish the beds I was making, I stumbled around, forgetting what I was doing, and of course EVERYTHING was funny. Especially the witty things I thought up to say. Well, Joanne and Joy were laughing. Tho.. that could have been at me, and not with me, but it's all good.

Canmore is beautiful, and we got some snow today. It's awesome to be surrounded by mountains! Anyways, this is it for now, because it's like, 8PM, and I'm pretty sure it's my bed time :) Cheers!
